I was fired from my job in Nairobi where I was paid Ksh 75,000. After remaining jobless for more than 1 year, I decided to start a business to help pay my bills. A friend suggested Mpesa shop but when I sought advise from a family member in Nakuru,he advised me to start an Agrovet. He told me Agrovet is profitable in Nakuru and the business is not saturated.
In 2023 I moved to Nakuru and looked for a house for the Agrovet business. I realized that rent in Nakuru is low compared to Nairobi. I got a house in section 58 and my rent is Ksh 18,000 per month.
I paid Ksh 25,000 per year for licenses . I then visited my Sacco where I got Ksh300,000 loan. My capital for agrovet business was Ksh 550,000.
I have been operating the business since then and my daily profit is Ksh 1,500 to Ksh5,000. During rainy seasons like April to October, my profits are higher. Sometimes I make up to Ksh20,000 per day.
Since starting the business, I have never experienced any problem and challenges. Agrovet business is a perfect venture in Nakuru.
