I have gotten a job in Nairobi and my salary is Ksh 35,000. I want to know whether it’s enough to survive in Nairobi.

With Ksh35,000 salary, you will need to rent a house for Ksh3,000 to Ksh5,000 per month. A single room or bedsitter will be ideal. You will also be required to do shopping and buy food which will cost Ksh10,000 to Ksh12,000 per month. In addition, there is transport which will cost Ksh 3,000 to Ksh6,000 monthly.
A salary of Ksh 35,000 is not much. All the expenses will cost Ksh 20,000 to Ksh25,000 if you don’t spend on luxuries. You will save a maximum of Ksh 10,000 monthly.
In Nairobi,Ksh35,000 salary is not enough to live a modest life. You will be struggling financially and going for mobile loans.
