Top 20 Tallest Buildings in Nairobi

Nairobi has one some of the tallest buildings in Africa. Below we have listed top 20 tallest buildings in the city, some as tall as 200 metres.

  • Britam Tower

It is 200 metre tall building, a 31 Storey Tower located in Upper Hill, Nairobi.  It was constructed in 2013 and it ended in 2017. Britam Tower is among the best designed buildings.

  • GTC Office Tower

It is 184metres a 43 storey office block. GTC Office Tower is the Africa’s headquarters for Chinese firm Avic. This tower was just opened recently.

  • UAP Old Mutual Tower

This is a 33 – storey building located in Upper Hill. It was the tallest building that opened in 2016 after being constructed for five years.

  • Nairobi GTC Hotel Tower

This is a 141-metre, 35 storey building constructed which began in July 2015. It is among the lists of Kenya’s tallest skyscrapers.

  • Times Tower

It is situated on Haile Selassie Avenue also known as New Central Bank Tower. It is a 7 – storey banking, 140Metre Skyscraper used by the Kenya Revenue Authority.

  • Prism Tower

It is a 133metres tall, 34-storey building skyscraper located in Upper Hill. It was constructed and completed in 2018. The Prism Tower is owned by Kings Developers.

  • Le’Mac Towers

It is a24-storey building located off Waiyaki way on your way to Westlands. It costs 3.5billion to construct it. The Le’mac tower was officially opened in 2019. It is currently the tallest residential building on Nairobi.

  • Parliament Tower

It is a 125metres tall building. The 26 floor office sits on a one-acre plot between Continental House and County Hall.

  • TelPosta House

Tlposta is a 120metres office block located on Kenyatta Avenue. The building is a 27-storey and was completed in 1999 by the Laxmanbhai Construction Houses Telkom Kenya and various government ministries and departments.

  • KCB Plaza Nairobi

It is a 109metres, 21 – storey skyscraper tall building situated in Upper Hill. It was opened in 2014 and the cost ksh. 2.1 billion to construct it.

  • Kenyatta International Conference Centre

This building is also known as the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC). It is 105metres tall, a 25 storey tower in Nairobi City Square.

  • Upper Hill Chambers

This building is 104metres tall and a 26storey tower situated on the 2nd Ngong Avenue in Upper Hill. It has an upper parking floor and fifteen grade A offices floors.

  • Social Security House

It is 103metres tall, 28storey building and it serves as the national security fund headquarters. It was the tallest building in 1969 built in 1967.

  • I&M Bank Tower Nairobi

It is 99metres tall situated at Kenyatta Avenue, consists of 18 floors.  This building acts as commercial offices in town.

  • Moi University Pension Scheme

This building is 89metres tall, consisting of 18 floors. This building serves as commercial offices situated in Nairobi road Elodert.

  • Sanlam Tower

This building consists of 20 floors, it is 89metres tall and situated at Kenyatta Avenue.  There are only commercial offices present.

  • Pan African Insurance Tower

This building consists of 18floors, the height is 88metres tall and acts/serves as commercial offices. It is located along Waiyaki way.

  • Nyayo House

It is an old building having being constructed in 1979. It is located along Kenyatta Avenue, this building is also known as provincial headquarters.

  • Cooperative Bank House

This building is situated at Haile Selassie Avenue, otherwise known as provincial headquarters, it is an old building having been constructed in 1981. It is also 99metres in height and consists of 27floors.

  • National Bank House

The height of this building is 82metres with 21floors; it is also an old building having been constructed in 1976. The building consists of commercial offices.
