There are specific estates in Nairobi where the upper middle class live. Here, almost everyone is driving, they need parking space. If you want starehe, live in Kilimani Estate where there are plenty of good clubs. The houses in the estate are excellent and there is plenty of water.

——Kileleshwa

It’s another estate where even some MPs live. Kileleshwa has apartments, bungalows and mansions—it’s upon you to choose the type of a house to rent

In case you’ll be working in Nairobi CBD, your driving time from home to your workplace is 10-20 minutes

——South C

If you go to South C today you won’t believe it’s the same South C 10 years ago, it has completely changed. Now there are many new apartments, others almost complete.

South C is an ideal estate for people earning Ksh 15,000 to Ksh 250,000 monthly. Rent is from Ks 30,000 to Ksh 80,000.

There are also bedsitters in South C which go for Ksh 18,000 to Ksh 25,000 per month.

—-South B

South B is just opposite to South C.It’s a good estate if your income is from Ksh 120,000.There are new and old apartments in this estate.

When living in South B, you will be shopping at Capital Center which is a walking distance.

South B and South C estates are along Mombasa Road.

—–Imara Daima

Another good estate for upper middle class, Imara Daima. Imara has improved tremendously, it has modern apartments which are also neat,good roads and drainage system. There is also Imaara Mall which is along Mombasa Road where you will be doing your shopping.

At Imara you will get a decent apartment of Ksh 30,000 to Ksh 60,000. The houses in this estate are cheaper than South C and South B. With a salary of Ksh 120,000, you will find a good house in Imara.

—-Parklands

Parklands is mostly inhabited by Indians and people earning over Ksh 150,000. Parklands is about 1-2 kilometers from Nairobi CBD.

—-Langata

If your salary ranges between Ksh 150,000 and Ksh 200,000, look for a house in Langata.There are nice bungalows, apartments and mansions in Langata Estate. Don’t fear the closeness of Kibra, it doesn’t affect the security of Langata.

—-Kitengela

While there are middle class living in Kitengela, in fact majority of the residents are middle class, there are many upper middle class in this estate. There are several gated community houses to rent, they charge at least Ksh 40,000 per month.

Nowadays there is Expressway which you will use to access Nairobi CBD.

—Ruiru

Ruiru has plenty of houses for upper middle class. You can rent an entire compound for Ksh 50,000. There are also numerous plots for sale.

—-Westlands

If your budget is Ksh 50,000 to Ksh 150,000, there are nice houses in Westlands for rent. When I say Westlands, I don’t mean Kangemi ,Uthiru etc,I mean those sides of Kabete where slums are not available.

—-Hurlingham

You will get decent apartments in Hurlingham for rent.It’s one of the best estates in Nairobi and very close to the CBD.Only the Upper Middle Class live in this place,there is no slum closer to Hurlingham.Rent amount range between Ksh 40,000 and Ksh 100,000 per month
