To be Accredited by ICT Authority, below are the requirements:
ICT Technician Requirements
- A duly filled Registration Application form for ICT Technician and signed Code of Conduct (ICTA/STD/PROF/F005)
- Diploma certificate in ICT/Engineering related field from accredited institution of learning; or Diploma certificate in any field from accredited institution of learning with proof of two years’ experience practicing ICT;
- Copy of National ID/Passport.
- Application fee of Ksh. 600
- Annual subscription of Kshs.500
ICT Graduate Requirements
- A duly filled Registration Application form for ICT Graduate and signed Code of Conduct (ICTA/STD/PROF/F005)
- Graduate certificate in ICT/Engineering related field from accredited institution of higher learning
- Copy of National ID/Passport.
- Application fee of Ksh. 1000
- Annual subscription of Kshs.1000
ICT Practitioner Requirements
- A duly filled Registration Application form for ICT Practitioner and signed Code of Conduct (ICTA/STD/PROF/F005)
- Proof to show that the applicant has been practicing ICT either through employment or private engagement for at least 2 years.
- Copy of National ID/Passport
- Application fee of Ksh. 2000
- Annual subscription of Kshs.1000
ICT Professional Requirements
- A duly filled Registration Application form for ICT Professional and signed Code of Conduct (ICTA/STD/PROF/F005)
- Graduate certificate in ICT/Engineering related field from accredited institution of Higher learning or A Copy of the Registration Certificate for either ICT Graduate/Practitioner from ICTA.
- Professional Certificate in the specific area from recognized institution by ICTA/government body
- Letters of reference from employer(s) covering the previous two years confirming professional integrity
- Statements of two referees detailing their knowledge of the applicant.
- Application fee of Ksh. 5000
- Annual subscription of Kshs.3000
Code of Conduct
Registered professionals and ICTA accreditation/certification holders shall:
- Perform their duties with objectivity, due diligence and care, in accordance with professional IT standards and procedures for effective governance and management of Information and Communications Technologies.
- Serve for public good in a lawful manner, while maintaining high standards of conduct and character.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information obtained in the course of their activities.
- Perform services only in areas of their competence
- Inform appropriate parties of the results of work performed including the full disclosure of all significant facts
- Support the professional education of stakeholders in enhancing their understanding of the governance and effective management of information and communications technology. Failure to comply with this Code of Professional Ethics can result in an investigation into a registered professional or accredited holder’s conduct and, ultimately, in disciplinary measures including exclusion from the roll of IT professionals.
