George Ruto has unveiled his own matatu known as Mood. The matatu was officially unveiled at KICC in a colourful ceremony attended by thousands of youths. George is the son of President Ruto.
George purchased the vehicle from Isuzu Kenya for Ksh 7 million. He went ahead and enhanced it with modern seats, graffiti, sound system and TVs inside the matatu. The total cost of the matatu was Ksh12,000,000.
It is one of the several vehicles owned by George Ruto. He has approximately 12 such matatus in Nairobi. Each of the matatus generate Ksh 15,000 per day on average. This means that he makes Ksh180,000 per day net profit from the matatus. In a month, George makes at least Ksh 5 million from the matatus.
Sources say that he will start by investing in matatu business then later invest in online tax business. He wants to venture fully in the transport sector.
