Moi University used to be among the best universities in Kenya but because of leadership wrangles,it has lost its former glory. If you want to join the university as a student, here are the reasons we discourage you.
You will not graduate at the right time
Most of the students who graduated from Moi University this year have stayed at the university for more than 7 years. Your graduation will always delay, hence denying you a chance of getting a job because you won’t have a degree paper for job hunting.
Quality of education is low
Many lecturers and staff at the university are not motivated. Due to less motivation, they won’t provide high quality of education. This will make you half baked graduate.
Frequent strikes
There have been frequent strikes both from lecturers and students because of poor living conditions and lack of salaries. This is not health for students. Your concentration on studies will be low.
You will spend more money
Since you will overstay in the university, you must be forced to spend more money on accommodation, fee, food and other items. This will be hectic for your parents and sponsors.
Lack of scholarship opportunities
Scholarships often come to universities where education quality is high. Since those offering the scholarships understand Moi University very well, they will be bypass it and give the scholarships to other universities. As a student, you will be disadvantaged.
Employers will favour graduates from other universities
Since employers know that you are half baked, they won’t take your degree seriously. Universities like JKUAT, UoN,Strathmore and KU will be more favoured.
