Dr Fred Matiangi has arrived in Kenya. The former Interior CS was received by thousands of his supporters.
Dr. Fred Matiang’i, speaking shortly after touching down at JKIA, delivered a powerful message to Gen Z, a generation he believes holds the key to Kenya’s political future.
While acknowledging the energy and boldness shown in recent days, Matiang’i reminded the youth that true change is cemented not just in protests, but in participation.
“We can do as much as we want, but if we are not registering and preparing to vote, we have not succeeded,” he said. “Let us convert our passion into action by preparing to engage meaningfully in the 2027 elections.”
According to Matiang’i, the future of Kenya is not something Gen Z must wait for, it is something they must actively shape.
Fred Matiangi will be a presidential candidate in 2027. He will contest against president William Ruto. His main opponent in the opposition is Kalonzo Musyoka.
Rigathi Gachagua is also tempted to vie as a president. But Kikuyu people have told him not to contest.
