There are important things you need to know about NHIF.One of them is that employees pay different rates than self-employed people. For self-employed the monthly contributions are Ksh500 which sum up to Ksh6, 000 per year. For employees, monthly contribution is Ksh 150 to Ksh 1700 depending on one’s salary. In case someone fails to remit their contribution, they incur penalties.
