Kenya Highlands Sacco Membership Requirements

How To Join

Every applicant for membership shall complete an “application for membership” form. This form shall be drawn to show all the information required for the purpose of registration of a member.

An applicant shall be admitted to membership on application upon payment of Entrance fees and at least minimum par value of shares as shall be fixed by the General Meeting from time to time. On being admitted the member shall furnish the society with two passport size photos, a Nominee form and a certified copy of the National Identity Card.

Upon admission the member’s name shall be entered in the membership register and a membership number issued.

Memberships

Membership consist of all members who signed the application for registration paid membership fee and minimum shares as per the policy. They may include: Tea farmers, Dairy farmers, Sugar cane farmers, Coffee farmers, Civil servants, Business community, Micro groups, among others.

Saving and Investment Products

Ordinary Savings

Requirements

Available for all eligible members, requirements: id copy, 150/= shillings and minimum account balance of 500/=

Biz-smart current Account

Available for customers who make frequent transactions, no restrictions on the number of withdrawals per day, requirements: id copy, 150/= shillings and minimum account balance of 500/=

Lakwet/Junior Account

This is a product for children under the age of 18 years, its operated by parent /guardian. Requirements: Child birth certificate, parent /guardian id copy, 150/= shillings and minimum account balance of 500/=

Fixed Deposit Account

this account allows members to deposit their cash for a fixed period/Term so as to earn interest. Minimum amount is 20,000/=

Pamoja Investment Account

This is an investment account available for all members. Cash is fixed for a stipulated period of time and earns interest on the number of months even when the agreed period hasn’t elapsed. flexible terms in withdrawals.

Institutional Shares

Available for all members it earns dividends every year

Unwithdrawable Deposits

available to all members and can be used as collateral for loan. Can be contributed through standing orders or cash it yield dividends every year

Building Shares

Available for all members who whish to invest, its minimum balance is 2,000/= also earns dividends yearly.

FOSA LOANS

Inua Biashara Advance

Characteristics

  1. Available to business customers
    2.Repayable within 2-30 days
    3.Interest rate of 5% p.m for loans exceeding ksh 4000 and a flat rate of ksh 200 for loans below ksh 4,000
    4.Minimum of ksh 1,000 to a maximum ksh 100,000
    5.Processing fee ksh 50

Requirements

  1. Fully filled application form
    2.Maximum Six (6) guarantors
    3. Must be contributing regular deposits for at least 2 weeks
    4.Must have business deposits a/c for daily collection

Special Salary Advance

Requirements

1.Maximum Six (6) guarantors
2.Salary must be channelled through FOSA Account for at least 3 months
3.The advance application form must be endorsed by the employer
4.Attached pay slip & ID copy
5.Dully-filled application form

Maisha Bora Bima Loan

Requirements

1.A member fills the form attached pay slip and photo copy of identity card.
2.Minimum of three guarantors
3.Copy of NHIF CARD
4.Incase of other policy cover the logbook must be presented as well as the physical asset for inspection and valuation.
5.repayable in 12 months

Dividend Advance

Requirements

  1. Cumulative slip indicating production per year
  2. Original slip for the crop product processors
  3. Maximum Six (6) guarantors
  4. Dully filled advance application form

Salary loan

Requirements

1.Maximum six(6) guarantors
2.Salary must be channelled through FOSA Account for at least 4 months
3.The advance application form must be endorsed by the employer
4.Attached payslip & ID copy
5.Dully-filled application form

Maziwa Special Advance

Requirements

1.For individual members, 4 monthly incomes will be considered and the primary co-operative society will a sign commitment letter
2.The client will fill the relevant form
3.Attach a copy of identity card.
4.In case of the co-operative society, they should provide authority letter to borrow from the co-operative officer.
5.Minimum of four guarantors

Farm Loan

Requirements

1.Dully-filled application form
2.Attach payslip & copy of the ID card
3.Three months statement
4.Maximum Six (6) guarantors

Special Crop Advance

Requirements

  1. Maximum Six (6) guarantors
    2. Salary must be channeled through FOSA Account for at least 3 months
    3. The advance application form must be endorsed by the employer
    4. Attached payslip & ID copy
    5. Dully-filled application form

Fanikisha Salary

Requirements

4.Above 1 million requires collateral

Maziwa Loan

Requirements

1.For individual members, 4 monthly income will consider and the primary co-operative society will  sign a commitment letter
2.For societies, an MOU is to be signed between the two organizations,
The client will fill the relevant form
3.In case of the co-operative society, they should provide authority letter to borrow from the co-operative officer
4.Minimum of four guarantors
5.Attach a copy of identity card.

BOSA LOANS

Asset Finance loan

Requirements

1.The asset must be comprehensively insured and if movable property, be put on a tracking device at applicant cost.

2.The asset must be presented in the office for physical inspection or at the approved Sacco agent.

3.Anti-theft devices are to be installed.

4.The member shall be required to sign a formal agreement by way of instrument of charge, thereby giving the society first lien on the subject asset.

5.A member shall not dispose of the asset under an instrument of charge unless written consent granted by the society.

6.Member must complete the loan application form.

7.must have good credit rating with CRB.

Boresha loan

Characteristics

1.loan given three times business deposits
2.First loan is up to a maximum of ksh100,000 and the subsequent loan is up to
ksh700,000
3.Repayable in 6-24 months
4.repayment frequency is daily, weekly and monthly
5.two(2) weeks grace period
6.interest charged 16%  straight-line Business deposit mature for a loan after a period of 4months

Requirements

3.Valid collateral for loans

Msingi Loan

Characteristics

  1. Available to members with a registered business who meet the requirements
    2. Minimum amount available Ksh. 10,000.
    3.repayment period 12 months to 36 months depending on the loan amount
    4. Loan below Ksh.100,000 may be guaranteed by an individual while an amount above Ksh.100,000 must provide collateral that should be registered in the applicant’s name or attached with a transfer form dully filled.
    5. appraisal fee 1%

Micro Credit Loan

Requirements

1.Groups of 10-20 members
2.Group must save for at least 2 months
3. All group members savings guarantee the individual members loan
4.Additional Monthly savings of 5% of the amount of loan issued to be deducted on loan given

Daima Development Loan

Available to permanent and pensionable salaried employees. It’s strictly Check off system loan and before the loan is issued an active M.O.U with the employer should be in place. Repayable in 48-60 months.

Requirements

Must have been a member in the Society for at least 4 months, must be fully guaranteed, dully filled application form, 2/3 rule shall apply.

Normal Crop/Salary/Maziwa Loan

Available for farmers and salaried members, It’s based on three times the deposit with the Society but subject to repayment ability with interest rate of 12% p.m. Repayment period is between 12-36 months.

Requirements

Must have been a member in the Society for at least 4 months, Must be fully guaranteed, subject to deposit pledged and ability to pay, dully filled application form, 2/3 rule shall apply.
