Who is eligible to join Univision Sacco?

Our Sacco admits eligible individuals, groups, or corporates for membership upon fulfilment of membership opening requirements below.

  4. Other Government Ministries and Parastatals
  5. Private and Non-governmental organizations
  6. Retired Officers
  7. Chamas & Corporates
  8. Business Community
  9. National & County Government Employees
  10. Diaspora Members

Membership Process

How to join the Sacco?

You can join Univision Sacco by downloading and filling the membership application form and submit it to our office or send it to the official email address of the Sacco. Below are the requirements for each type of membership.

Individual Membership

To join the Sacco, one needs to

Be at least 18 years of age and have a source of income.

Complete the Membership Application Form

Attach copy of Kenyan National Identity Card or a valid Kenyan Passport

Attach copy of the KRA PIN certificate

Attach a colored passport size photograph

Pay an entrance fee of Kshs. 1,000

Open a FOSA account (free)

Have a minimum share capital of Kshs. 10,000

Group Membership

To join the Sacco, a group needs to

Complete the Membership Application Form

Attach minutes of the group’s meeting resolving to join the Sacco

Attach copies of Identification Cards, and Passport Photos of authorized signatories.

Attach copy of group’s registration certificate.

Pay an entrance fee of Kshs. 1000

Savings Products

Toto Children Account

This savings account is meant for children under the age of 18 years.

Account Features

Minimum contribution of Ksh 100/=

Minimum interest earning balance is Ksh 3,000

Interest rate 5% per annum

Bima Account

This a saving account for insurance

Account Requirements

Minimum contribution of Ksh 500/=

Minimum interest earning balance is Ksh 3,000

Interest rate 5% per annum

Fixed Deposit Account

This account which provides investors a higher rate of interest than a regular savings account, until the given maturity date.

Account Features

Minimum amount of Kshs. 50,000

Interest rates varying from 8% p.a to 13% p.a

Minimum period to earn interest is 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months

Withholding tax of 15% statutory requirement

Smart Fix Account

This a Smart Fix savings account

Account Requirements

Minimum deposit is Ksh. 5,000/=

Top-up is allowed

Interest rate of 12% pro rata basis

Maturity period of 3, 6, 9, and 12 months

Jiinue Account

This account if for those saving money for investment in their projects or businesses.

Account Features

Minimum contribution of Ksh 100/=

Minimum interest earning balance is Ksh 3,000

Interest rate 5% per annum

Holiday Account

This account is for those saving for a holiday/vacation.

Account Features

Minimum contribution of Ksh 100/=

Minimum interest earning balance is Ksh 3,000

Interest rate 5% per annum

Jipange Retirement Scheme

This a retirement savings account

Account Requirements

Minimum monthly contribution is Ksh. 200/=

Savings can be done through a standing order, direct deposit or paybill number

Withdrawal is only allowed upon retirement or demise of the member

Annual interest rate of 10%. The interest will be ploughed back to the Jipange Account

Member Welfare Scheme

This an account for member welfare

Compensation will be as follows

Principal member = Ksh. 100,000/=

Spouse = Ksh. 100,000/=

Children up to 6 in number and up to 25yrs of age = Ksh. 50,000/= with a proof that he/she is in college or university

Account Requirements

Monthly contribution is Ksh. 200/=

Members are required to fill the benevolent fund nominee form and attach supporting documents of the beneficiaries (birth certificate for children and marriage certificate for spouses)

A member becomes eligible to this benefit after 6 months of frequent contributions

Each member to be considered independently in cases where a member and spouse are members

Children are considered from the date of notification of birth to 25yrs of age as long as they are schooling. Death certificates should follow within one month after notification

Normal Loan

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

Be a registered member with contributions of at least 6 months

Guarantors’ and applicant’s shares MUST be equal to or more than the loan applied for

Attach copy of National ID/Valid Passport

Three current pay slips certified by the applicant’s employer’s payroll

Investment Loan

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

Loan Requirements

Be a registered member with contributions of at least 6 months

Fully completed loan application form

Guarantors’ and applicant’s shares MUST be equal to or more than the loan applied for

Attach copy of National ID/Valid Passport

Three current pay slips certified by the applicant’s employer’s payroll

Salary Advance Loan

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

Loan Requirements

Be a registered member with contributions of at least 6 months

Fully completed loan application form

Guarantors’ and applicant’s shares MUST be equal to or more than the loan applied for

Attach copy of National ID/Valid Passport

Three current pay slips certified by the applicant’s employer’s payroll

Hekima Loan

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

Super Loan

This loan is given to any member of the Kitui Teachers Sacco who meets the requirements.

Loan Requirements

Be a registered member with contributions of at least 6 months

Guarantors’ and applicant’s shares MUST be equal to or more than the loan applied for

Attach copy of National ID/Valid Passport

Three current pay slips certified by the applicant’s employer’s payroll

Emergency/School Fees Loan

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

Loan Requirements

Be a registered member with contributions of at least 6 months

Fully completed loan application form

Guarantors’ and applicant’s shares MUST be equal to or more than the loan applied for

Attach copy of National ID/Valid Passport

Three current pay slips certified by the applicant’s employer’s payroll

Maximum repayment period is 96 months

S M-PATA Loan

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

Online Loan

Half of member’s salary after deductions

Half of BOSA deposits

Minimum amount of Ksh. 500/=

Salary to be channeled through FOSA for at least one month

Repayable within one month

Online guarantorship

Security options: guarantors or applicant deposits

Karibu Loan

This loan is given to any member of the Univision Sacco who meets the requirements.

Loan Requirements

It’s meant for the newly employed members

Maximum qualifying amount is Ksh. 100,000/=

Attach National ID copy and employment particulars i.e. employment letter, posting letter etc.

Commitment to channel salary through FOSA

Instant/no waiting period

Repayable within 12 months

Who is eligible to join Kitui Teachers Sacco and what are the requirements?

Membership is open to all. An individual is eligible for membership if he/she is in the possession of the following qualifications:

  • Over 18 years
  • Teachers and TSC employees
  • All civil servants and salaried employees
  • Business community
  • Spouse or child of any of the above who must be 18 years of age and above

The following documents are required:

  • A fully filled membership application form
  • Copy of the National Identity Card (Both sides)
  • Two recent color passport size photographs.

What is the difference between share capital and deposits?

Share capital

Share capital is the money invested in the Sacco by the members/shareholders. It is a permanent/long-term member’s contribution toward the Sacco capital and forms part of Sacco equity. It represents your ownership of the Sacco, currently, each member has a minimum of 100 Shares valued at KES 100. 

Deposits

Deposits mean a balance that is established and maintained by a member at a SACCO that confers membership rights to that person, these are the regular monthly deposits. They are used to determine eligibility for a loan and can only be withdrawn when one ceases to be a member. Deposits can be used as loan security; and are withdraw-able members’ savings.

What are the requirements/documents need for loan application?

  • Fully completed loan application form
  • The number of guarantors is dependent on the type of loan and their total deposit amount. They must be active members and have contributed towards their deposits for at least six months. Guarantors’ and applicant’s shares MUST be equal to or more than the loan applied for.
  • Three current pay slips certified by the applicant’s employer’s payroll, MUST be attached to the application.
  • Attach copy of National ID/Valid Passport
