Mutura business is one of the most profitable businesses in Kenya though it’s underrated. Before you start this business, there are basic things you should know.
Capital required
You need a capital of Ksh 20,000 to Ksh 30,000 for the business. Some of the most important items to buy include:
- Grill meat roaster—Ksh 8,000 to Ksh 10,000
- Business license—Ksh 5,000 to Ksh10,000
- Spacious place to rent—Ksh 2,000 to Ksh 5,000
- Charcoal—Ksh 500
You also need Ksh 1,000 to Ksh 3,000 for the initial stock.
The total cost can be as low as Ksh 20,000 and as high as Ksh 30,000 depending on location.
The location of the business should be near a butchery, if possible in front of a butchery. Customers of mutura are very sensitive, they want to know where the meat comes from. Some mutura sellers would slaughter a cat or dog and sell to unsuspecting customers. If you are selling your mutura just outside a butchery, they would believe that the meat comes from that butchery.
You also need to taste the mutura regularly especially when there are many customers in the line. This gives them assurance that the product is good.
You should also be very clean. Avoid touching your nose unnecessarily. Wear clean clothes and be neat.
Mutura profits
If you buy meat of Ksh 2, 000, you will get a profit of Ksh 400 to Ksh 600.In a day you will spend Ksh 5,000 to Ksh 10,000 which will generate a profit of Ksh 1,000 and above.
The profits are determined by the number of customers you get and the pieces each of them eats.in simple terms, it depends on the total number of pieces you sell.Daily profits will range between Ksh 800 and Ksh 5,000
One thing you should not forget is to get the necessary licences required to operate the business, otherwise the county government officers, health officers will harass you.
